Inhibit is the act of remotely disabling a target radio so it cannot transmit or receive. Uninhibit is the reverse — bringing an inhibited radio back to normal operation. Both are issued against a single Subscriber ID and routed through the control channel.
This is the standard mechanism for shutting down a stolen, lost, or unauthorised radio without having to recover the hardware.
REMOTE_INHIBIT opcode with the target Subscriber ID in the target field.true and powers itself down.Uninhibit follows the same flow with REMOTE_UNINHIBIT. The targeted radio clears its inhibited state and returns to its normal power-up state.
An inhibited radio:
REMOTE_UNINHIBIT for its Subscriber ID.
